Mission: Raising the Mast
Location: Counselor's office

ON

Several boxes and small crates had been beamed onto the ship, however where they had been sent wasn't the place they were supposed to be, They were beamed instead into the Counselor's office. When this happened it probably was the night before. And there they were, just waiting to be unpacked. They belonged to someone, who was on this ship, and a label was placed upon these items, Commander Jade Troconis.

Rena had nearly tripped over the piles of boxes and crates that had appeared in her office overnight. Her niece would say "special wewivery", but...was it really? She looked at them. Commander Jade Troconis. Really? On what planet did the letters R E N A spell Jade?? With a deep sigh, she tapped her comms badge. ==/\==Commander Troconis? Please report to the Counselor's office. I have some important items for you. ==/\==

Jade was a bit surprised to get a summons to the counselor's office. She headed there to see what was up and what items she was talking about. Jade also looked up to see who the counselor was. Lieutenant Campbell?

The door to the counselor's office opened and Jade stepped through. "Hello Counselor, I'm Commander Jade Troconis. What can I do for you?"

Rena smiled. "Yes!! Nothing serious today; I believe I have some valuables of yours." She indicated a stack of boxes and crates; she'd spent some time neatly organizing them for the other woman. "Someone from the Transport room made a mistake." She explained. "It was really no big deal except they nearly blocked my door." She sighed.

"Oh I am so sorry that happened. I was wondering where my belongings were at. I've been stuck wearing this dress uniform until I got around to getting some other clothing, put together. Now I can get changed, once I get my things where they belong." Jade giving a chuckle.

Rena smiled. "It's not your fault!! You look nice but I DO understand. Do you need help moving things? I am mostly settled in!" She offered.

"Sure, just let me get an anti grav trolley and then we'll get my stuff to where it belongs. I'll be right back." Jade disappearing out of the room, a few minutes later she stepped back inside. "Okay I've got one just outside the door. At times it pays to be the XO." giving an amused smile. she went to pick up one of the crates and took it to where the antigrav cart was at.

Rena waited for her to return with the cart, and then began to help the woman load the boxes and crates on to the cart. "It must be!! I had to haul my own things!" She said, with a laugh. "I don't mind; the big furniture was transported." She indicated the small couch and arm chair setup she had; her office was ALSO the main psych treatment room for non-emergent patients-ie, regular sessions would be held here. "Which is a blessing because that thing weighs a LOT."

"Oh most definitely. I would hate to think of how pieces of furniture already assembled be brought in the old fashioned way. They would still have to disassemble and then reassemble in the room. I remember someone trying to move a piano at one time, and didn't bother to use the transporter, this was on a station and they didn't use the frieght lift either. The piano got stuck, and the legs had to be taken off just to get that poor piano out of the lift." Jade remarked as she put a couple of more boxes upon the antigrav cart.

Rena made a face. "Oh wow." She remarked. "How dumb!" She shook her head. "Seems like it would have been easier to use a transporter in that case!!" She hefted a crate onto the cart. "Oof. Are you carrying toddlers?" She joked. "That one was heavy." She smiled. "Want something to drink? Looks like my replicator has been set up!"

"Oh you must have picked up the crates with some of my books. And a drink sounds lovely, tea, a green tea would be lovely." Jade said, as she took the last crate out and placed it upon the cart.

Rena chuckled. "Books are definitely very heavy! I had two boxes of my own!" She turned to her replicator and ordered up one green tea and one coffee. "Here you are, ma'am. Green tea!" It smelled good, Rena had to admit, but she was a coffee girl-a habit she hoped to get a handle on but hadn't yet made the effort to control.

Jade gratefully accepted the green tea, walking over to take a seat in one of the chairs. "This will help to counteract the drinks I had during, oh when was that, opening ceremony for the ship? I did my best not to imbibe too much but, still had gotten a little bit of a buzz." the XO remarked.

Rena smiled knowingly. "It's ok, we all did." Rena herself had had two glasses of Springwine-she wasn't much of a drinker anyway so it had really hit her, and with her gifts, it was better for her to be more careful. She settled in across from Jade. "I believe it's always a worthwhile endeavor to make the launch party less business and more fun-we'll have plenty of time for serious things from here on out." She said.

"And the Captain wasn't there, he had played hooky, and honestly I didn't know who the Captain was. I was getting some conflicting reports as to if the Captain was going to be male or female. I found out after I went to have a drink at the Siren on this ship, what he looked like." Jade chuckling then took a drink of her tea.

Rena shook her head. "Of course he wasn't!!" She had to laugh. "That is just my luck, too, because I had finally calmed down enough to be coherent." She was a bit tightly wound when she was nervous. "I get a bit tongue-tied around senior staff when I am nervous; this is only my second posting and it's a big one. A chance to really get some good work under my belt and really make a difference!" She said.

"Well this is my first posting as an Executive Officer so, I've got a lot to learn maybe? Or I am a miss know it all, " Jade giving a bit of a snort. "yeah I most certainly am not a know it all. Guess you and I are in the same boat so to speak." giving a laugh.

Rena smiled. "Well, we can learn together." She said, reassuringly. This Commander was a good egg; she could already tell by her vibrations and feelings. Rena made it a point not to "read" people without their permission unless it was necessary; however, Jade's vibrations were strong, and Rena could easily hone in on them.

"That maybe quite entertaining ." Jade said before taking a drink of her tea. Lowering the glass she looked around. "This seems to be a rather comfortable counselor's office. Good Ambience, doesn't seem like it will be too sterile. Some people do not like going into a counselor's office as it just doesn't have that balanced feeling."

Rena nodded. "I try my best to keep it comfortable and homey. I understand that sometimes, we see some pretty terrible things, and I want-NEED-my office to be a safe haven from all of that. You're welcome to stop by to talk to me anytime, even without an appointment. Or just for a nap!" She said, with a smile.

Jade laughed, "Hmmn... I don't know if I dare do that, I may find the couch too comfy. Besides my couch would be so jealous if I took a nap on anything but it." Jade giggled, then finished up her tea. "Speaking of which, I need to go get my belongings to my quarters and get cleaned up. I really want to get changed into some more comfortable clothing."

Jade rising from where she sat. "Uh where do you want this?" holding up the cup. She didn't know if the counselor wanted to just send it down the recycler or keep it.

Rena smiled at the woman's joke. "Alright, Commander. Have a good rest of your day. If you need help unloading, I don't mind assisting. You can just recycle the cup, if you'd like. Or keep it as a souvenir!" She joked. "Let me see you out." She stood up to escort the XO out of her office. "I hope to see you again soon, ma'am."
