Mission: Raising the Mast
Location: Sickbay

Jade had to take the chance to do a little bit of exploration, she had stopped to look at the Arboretum, took a look in the science area and checked out the aerponics area. Her next stop would be medical. This ship was certainly different from the Miranda Class ship she had served on for a few years. She did like the look of this current ship, and it looked sturdy. Medical, Jade was impressed when she stepped inside and then began to explore.

Steffan sat behind his desk in his office, data PADD in his left hand with the ships medical inventory and a cup of black tea in his right hand which he slipped casually when he heard the doors to sick bay swish open. "Can I help you?" He called out to the unseen visitor.

Following the sound of the voice, Jade found her way to the CMO's office. "Oh hello, hadn't realized someone was here yet. I am Commander Jade Troconis. I am just checking out the ship from lower levels to the upper decks." smiling pleasantly.

Steffan smiled at the attractive Commander as she walked i to his office. He got to his feet as a mark of respect for the rank. "A pleasure to meet you, Commander. I'm Doctor Steffan Moller, Victory's Chief Medical Officer. Welcome to sickbay." He said, as he offered his hand for the Commander to shake.

Jade shook Steffan's hand firmly and gave a smile. "Like wise." releasing his hand. "How are you liking your office and area so far?" the commander asked, taking a seat upon a chair, She crossed her leg over the other, leaning back in her chair.

"Its fine now I have it organised to my liking." The Doctor replied glancing around the now barren office. Only a padd and console could be seen on his desk. "I like order and minimalism. Less is more."

"I can see that, which means you may have quite the uncluttered mind, Or, you are hiding the fact you have a cluttered mind, and needing a place to not have as much in front of you to keep you in a balance." having a teasing look in her eyes. She figured though, with how the office was, he had a well ordered mind.

"Well, i can't argue with that logic." Moller replied with a chuckle. "There's plenty going on up here in the old nogging." He added tapping his head with a finger.

"That could be a good thing or a bad thing." Jade teased, with a smile. "I had come down here as part of my goal to explore the ship. Since I have found that you are here, probably should get the quick examination done? I don't yet know how you are when it comes to your medical routines and if you are someone who makes house calls, opportunity is here, right?"

"Let me grab my tricorder." The Doctor said with a smile as he began to head out of his office. "Follow me, my good Commander." He said as he went through the doorway and headed into main sickbay. "Take a seat on the main bio bed and we'll get started."

Jade followed after Moller, and quipped, "Atleast you didn't say walk this way." giving a smirk, as she got on the bio bed. "So am I your first patient? Do we need to christen it with a bottle of champagne?" Not that it was needed, she was just feeling just a bit in a good mood.

"Unfortunately, you're not. A young Ensign was in here earlier getting his medical done. But you can be my first female medical on board if it makes you feel a bit more special." Steffan replied as he grabbed his tricorder and headed to the main bio bed.

Jade chuckled. "Oh yes I do feel special" watching as he approached the bio table. " Tell me a little bit about you? Where did you serve before?"

"I was a medical officer on the Colossus. However, i pretty much ran the sickbay as the CMO was always shagging the nurse. How they got away with it is beyond me, but its none of my business. I did my job to the best of my ability. When the Victory posting came up I decided to put in for it." Moller said as he pulled out his tricorder and began giving the Commander her medical.

"Have you found that I have a secondary head growing on my shoulder?" Jade giving a teasing glance at the CMO. Then she also remarked. "I don't know how long that would have lasted on the ship I was on previously. They ran a tight ship."

"Perhaps I need to get engineering to recalibrate my tricorder as I'm not picking up the growth you have described." The Doctor replied with a smirk. "It is picking up several breakages which have been fairly well repaired. My guessing is a medical tech or Ensign with limited medical knowledge. I'll have have to give the left arm break a 6.5 out of 10 and the broken ribs 7 out of 10." He said with a small wink.

"Well, not bad for the circumstances at the time." Jade remarked, "And glad I don't have a second head growing there. I was looked at like I was growing a second head when I let some of my friends know I had been assigned to this ship. And raised some eyebrows as well. Have no clue as to their reactions but oh well, its my life and not theirs." giving a shrug.

The Doctor frowned, "Is there something I should know about this ship? You make it sound like it needs to be avoided at all costs."

"No, they wanted to know why I wanted to accept the assignment when I had a great position as a history instructor at the academy. I wanted something different and to expand my horizons and so here I am." Jade said.

"Ah." Steffan replied as he mentally weighed the pros and cons of that choice. "I suppose i see where they're coming from, but as you say, you wanted something different and you're definitely going to get different on a starship."

"I do realize that, but good opportunity for me here most definitely." Jade looked at Steffan once more. "So Doctor, am I fit a fiddle and ready to dance?" giving a light laugh.

"Almost" The Doctor replied as he picked up a PADD to begin making notes. "Any new allergies you might have noticed since your last medical?"

Jade shook her head, "None that I've noticed, and I hope I do not develop any allergies, that would really be a real messy situation." giving a slight sigh. " I do know that there are people who develop allergies when they get older."

"Such is life, im afraid." Moller replied as he continued to make notes. "Are you into any extreme sports or activities that may require more visits to sick bay than the average officer?"

Jade shook her head and smiled. "No I am not into extreme sports. I may go horse riding on the holodeck , no horse racing mind you. Just lovely riding in the countryside." the XO replied.

"I see." The Doctor said at length as he continued to make notes. "Have you recently had sexual activities with non human species?"

Jade quirked up an eyebrow at that question, then she remarked, "that is an interesting question, are you asking if I've been intimate with something not humanoid or are you asking for a specific answer as in have I been intimate with a bolian and the answer would be no. Maybe you need to give me specifics as to what you are needing an answer to."

The Doctor frowned, "The non humanoid question was next. Are you saying no to non human and yes to non humanoid?" He asked, looking over the top of his PADD at the first officer.

"Okay, your line of questioning was a bit confusing, Doctor and I guess my questions were a bit confusing as well. Have I been sexually active as of late? No. The last time I was intimate with someone? It was human. Would that cover all of your questions?" Jade raising an eyebrow.

The Doctor nodded as he continued to make notes. "I'm sorry for the line of questioning, Commander, but there has been an increase of problems from interspecies mating rituals which means questions like these must to asked to get ahead of any potential problems."

"There has been a problem? Are you referring to Klingon Mating rituals or are you wanting to ask me out on a date?" Jade deciding to tease the doctor.

"There has. In recent years, the amount of sexual activities between humanoid and non humanoid has increased dramatically. There has been some e unfortunate side effects to this, which can become contagious. Hence the personal questions." The Doctor replied. "If I was asking you out I'd merely stick to something like 'Would you like to go to dinner tonight?'"

"Well good, seems like you are the direct sort of person. Good to know." Jade giving a nod. "As for the contagious diseases, I do know not to engage in any physical activities with a Bolian due to what it can do to a human. Makes the joints ache, that sort of thing, and just before you ask yet again, I've not had any intimacy with a Bolian, I saw what happened to a friend of mine a few years back. It wasn't pleasant. " another glance at the doctor then Jade queried, "Anymore questions or are we done with them?"

"Well, I did ask one question which you didn't reply too." Doctor Moller said as he placed the PADD he was working on down.

Jade looked in askance at the doctor her mind going over the questions he had asked her, then her mind zeroed in on the one thing he had asked, she had thought it a rhetorical question or an example. Well then, that was a rather sly way to ask her. At first she was going to say no, but then this would be a good opportunity to get to know him more, "I accept your invitation for dinner."

Steffan smirked, "Shall I pick you up around 1900 hours?"

"1900 hours will be workable." Jade giving a bit of a smile. "I'll be ready then." moving off of the bio table "thank you doctor and I will see you at the appointed hour." she turned to leave then paused, giving him one more look before she left medical.

An interesting turn of events, thought Steffan as he watched the Commander leave. Now he had to decided whether the ship's first officer was a chocolates or flowers sort of lady.
