"Captain's Log, Stardate 42776.67

The Victory has just left McKinley station for our First Contact mission on Deltine II. A stable warp signature has been detected leaving the planet and Starfleet is anxious to meet what we're hoping will be our new friends and allies. Though a first contact mission is critically important I have every confidence in my crew and our ability to make this a successful mission.

Computer End Log."

"Computer, begin personal log:
It's strange that Starfleet would put us in a situation with a captain they so obviously do not trust. If they had trusted me they would not have changed the crew and filled the ship with people I haven't had the chance to vet or even look up. I'm incredibly frustrated and a little hurt to be honest. I don't know what I've done to deserve their scrutiny.

Every captain must bear a cross and apparently this is mine. I don't doubt the crew's abilities, they seem like a fine lot, I am beginning to doubt my own. There is no place for that on the bridge of a starship. I will have to put aside these feelings and find a way to work with everyone in order to complete our mission.
